DR. SEAN TOLHURST

BSC (HONS), BMBS (HONS), RPSGT (USA), FRACP 

The majority of Dr Tolhurst’s Respiratory practice now focuses on complex bronchoscopy with the aim of providing an accurate and rapid diagnostic service for lung lesions (especially lung cancer) and other complex respiratory patients, as well as non-surgical management of end-stage emphysema with endo-bronchial techniques.

Dr Tolhurst is one of Australia’s most experienced Sleep Physicians with an extensive Sleep Medicine practice and was previously the lead Clinician in Australia’s largest diagnostic sleep service provider. His particular areas of clinical interest include conservative treatment options for OSA (without the need for CPAP therapy), assessing sleepiness, narcolepsy, idiopathic hypersomnolence and central sleep anpoea. He has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications and case-studies related to Sleep Medicine and was one of the co-authors of the Australasian Sleep Association’s previous guidelines on the performance of Sleep Studies in adults. Dr Tolhurst regularly provides expert medico-legal opinion in cases involving Sleep Medicine and is a member of the Medico-legal Society of Queensland.

Dr Tolhurst was awarded the Lynn D Walters memorial award for excellence in clinical teaching and holds the title of senior lecturer with the University of Queensland. He is an examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, he has previously been the director of clinical training at Greenslopes Private hospital, and remains actively committed to the training of medical students and allied health staff.

DR. AMY REYNOLDS

BSC, MBBS, FRACP

Dr Amy Reynolds is a Consultant Respiratory and Sleep Physician working in private practise at Greenslopes Private Hospital. She graduated with MBBS from the University of Queensland in 2005 and completed her basic physician training at Greenslopes Private Hospital. Her advanced training in respiratory medicine was completed at a variety of hospitals in South East Queensland including Gold Coast

Dr Amy Reynolds is a Consultant Respiratory and Sleep Physician working in private practise at Greenslopes Private Hospital.

She graduated with MBBS from the University of Queensland in 2005 and completed her basic physician training at Greenslopes Private Hospital. Her advanced training in respiratory medicine was completed at a variety of hospitals in South East Queensland including Gold Coast Hospital, Mater Hospital and The Prince Charles Hospital. Dr Reynolds achieved her FRACP in 2016. Her particular interest areas include bronchiectasis and sleep medicine, which prompted her to complete 2 additional fellowships years. She worked as the Cystic Fibrosis Fellow at The Prince Charles Hospital in 2016 and as the Sleep Fellow at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital/Genesis Sleepcare in 2017.

While working at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, a tertiary maternity hospital, Dr Reynolds developed an interest in sleep apnea during pregnancy. As part of her Sleep Fellow role, she helped to develop educational materials for GPs relating to this topic. Her research interests have included the investigation of factors associated with CPAP compliance and she has been involved in GP education relating to optimisation of CPAP therapy.

Dr Reynolds holds the title of associate lecturer with the University of Queensland. She is a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, Australasian Sleep Association, Lung Foundation Australia and American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Dr Reynolds is available to discuss individual patients’ needs and looks forward to assisting patients, their families and other health professionals in developing individual management plans relating to their respiratory and sleep health.

DR LIAM KREBS

BOccThy, MBBS, FRACP

Dr Liam Krebs is a Respiratory and Sleep Physician who graduated with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Griffith University School of Medicine in 2011. He has undertaken Physician training within The Prince Charles Hospital (including Chief Medical registrar role), Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Greenslopes Private Hospital. Liam completed a Sleep Medicine Fellowship at Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Liam’s respiratory interests cover all aspects of acute and chronic respiratory medicine including COPD management, asthma management, pulmonary nodules and lung cancer, pleural disease, and Bronchoscopy including Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) diagnostic procedures. Liam also provides sleep medicine care including obstructive sleep apnoea, complex ventilation, commercial driver review and movement related sleep disorders.

Liam’s earlier career was in the field of Occupational Therapy with positions at Redcliffe and Caboolture Hospitals providing Neuro-rehabilitation services. This background training in allied health has fostered a passion for holistic, pragmatic and patient centred care.

Outside medicine, Liam values time with his family and enjoys ultra trail running.
